The new generation of RM 35-03 introduces a new butterfly-shaped oscillating weight, which not only means The new product allows the wearer to personally adjust the geometry of the pendulum rotor, and can also change the winding speed of the movement according to lifestyle and sports status. How to achieve a new movement setting? Richard Mille’s butterfly-shaped oscillating weight is composed of two five-grade titanium alloy oscillating arms, and is equipped with heavy metal weights. It is driven by an independent gear system and activated by a special button.

In its initial position, the weight will cause the radial displacement of the center of gravity to the edge, transforming the wearer's every move into the torque required to wind the chain. When the button at the 7 o'clock position is pressed, the gear system pushes the two weights apart into a 180° angle. The center of gravity is aligned and the oscillating weight returns to the equilibrium position, thereby suspending the winding process and avoiding excessive winding of the movement. When the mode is switched, pressing the button will produce tactile feedback, so that the wearer can actually feel the separation of the two weights on the wrist.
