Casio G-Shock GA-2100 'CasiOak': Still a Worthy Investment?

:2023-12-18:1937:GA-2100
If you're looking to give your Casio GA2100 a sleek makeover, consider the carbon fiber case. Crafted from highly durable and damage-resistant carbon fiber, this case not only exudes a unique corrugated luster but also boasts sharp lines that emphasize the watch's sporty style, ensuring it can withstand powerful external impacts.

Within the analog form, the watch showcases a small digital display cutout for typical G-Shock complications and a day indicator on the left-hand side. The redesigned bezel brings the case diameter down to 45.4mm and a lug-to-lug of 48.5mm, making it more wearable.

Arguably the standout in the collection is the GA-2100, featuring a semi-translucent grey body and strap. A date marker in the form of a red throwing star with a white tip adds a unique touch, serving as an indicator. Notable details include a large throwing star at the caseback and a stainless steel band keeper adorned with a set of four stars.

For those preferring a smaller model (GA-S2100), with dimensions of 42.9mm diameter and 46.2mm lug-to-lug, it may sound large, but the lug-to-lug measurements make it feel compact on the wrist and wear exceptionally well.

What's remarkable is the thinness of the case, one of the slimmest G-Shock has produced at only 11.8mm thick (or 11.2mm on the smaller model). To put it in perspective, the Rolex Datejust comes in at 11.7mm thick. The case surrounds a carbon core, providing both shock protection and making the 'CasiOak' one of the lightest models at just 51g.

With a water resistance of 200m, shockproof build, toughened mineral glass lens, and adjustable LED backlight, the 'CasiOak' may not be a GPS watch, but it offers a comprehensive array of features expected from a G-Shock device. These include world time for 31 zones, an automatic calendar, countdown timer, stopwatch, and up to five daily alarms.
