The caseback of a watch is often an overlooked detail, but in fact, it can carry a significant amount of design language and storytelling.
Taking this design as an example, it was created for military enthusiasts and outdoor adventure lovers. The three-dimensional relief design creates a strong visual impact and adds an artistic character to the watch, turning the caseback into more than just a functional component.
The caseback is made of 316L stainless steel with a fine brushed finish. The central pattern features a sandblasted surface treatment, while the text is created through corrosion engraving. The design elements can be customized according to different brand concepts and customer requirements.
The six evenly distributed caseback slots are designed for easy opening and maintenance. The screw-down caseback structure is securely threaded onto the watch case, providing reliable water resistance from 20ATM to 50ATM.
The central relief artwork is produced through CNC machining and then carefully polished by hand to achieve the desired three-dimensional effect. Compared with simple corrosion engraving, this type of detailed CNC relief work requires significantly higher processing costs. Alternatively, for larger production quantities, the design can also be produced through mold-making to achieve better cost efficiency.
